It is estimated that ten to twelve million Africans starting in the 16th century and ending in the 19th
century came to the Americas in the second stage of a three-stage journey commonly known as the
"Triangle Trade Route." The European traders took fabrics, wine, and weapons on the first leg of the
triangle to Africa and exchanged the merchandise for human cargo. On the second leg of the journey, enslaved Africans were taken to the Americas and traded for coffee and sugar and the last leg was back to Europe to sell the goods that was purchased in the Americas with human livestock.
Our African American ancestors were part of a production chain, but through it all from 1619 to present we have evolved and continue to grow in knowledge, the spirit of our ancestors who came before us and proud descendants of the "Village Generation." We are the new "African Triangle," a triangle forged out of love, perseverance, pain, suffering and pride for who we are fully recognizing our true, "I Am." We are the spirit of African Transatlantic Triangle we should wear that concept proudly.
The African Triangle Initiative is a global project to share ideas of empowerment with others who were impacted by the results of the Transatlantic Slave Trade. The goal is to share knowledge, wisdom and creativity that will impact us to discover our roots and have a better understanding from whence we came and set a better path for our future direction through conversation via interviews, storytelling and humor using a podcast and live interviews as the method of delivering this message.
Our goal is to empower, enlighten, and share present and ancestry wisdom. The African Triangles Initiative, LLC is a project that will achieve this goal with a shared understanding of self and others on a global sense.
